FIT: Tech that works – for everybody

FIT is delighted to announce the launch of it’s new Cuimsiú Programme!

What is it?

The Cuimsiú Programme is an initiative set up by FIT to support neurodivergent and disabled people on a path to tech employment that works for them.

We also support employers in their own efforts in creating inclusive workplaces.

The programme is funded by Pobal under the WorkAbility: Inclusive Pathways to Employment Programme.

The programme is co-funded by the Government of Ireland and the European Union.

What we offer participants

Along with the opportunity to build tech skills, Cuimsiú Programme participants can take part in online and in person training to prepare for the workplace while receiving 1:1 support with our Employability Mentors.

Participants will have full access to FIT’s training platforms and the opportunity to network with employers throughout the year.

What we offer employers

• An opportunity to join the Cuimsiú Employer Network – Learn more about inclusive practices, meet candidates and opportunities to collaborate!

• A suite of online and in person training rolled out year round t support your own efforts in creating inclusive workplaces.

• Access to resources and support from the Cuimsiu Team.

How to take part

There is no diagnosis required to take part in the Cuimsiú Programme.

Participants must be ages 16+. All participants must fill out a registration form. The programme is free of charge. Our next intake of Cuimsiú participants will take place in February 2025.

What is FIT?

FIT (Fastrack into Information Technology) is a representative organisation of the technology sector committed to growing Ireland’s tech talent pipeline. 

Working in close collaboration with national education and training provision FIT’s mission is to promote an inclusive and sustainable smart economy, ensuring access to in-demand tech skills for quality employment and shared prosperity. 

In doing so, we are maximising opportunity through technology and making technology work for all.

Through regular skills needs analysis with its industry partners, FIT determines the impact and skills employment opportunities arising from emerging technology trends and designs training programmes that enable a broad and diverse cohort of people to acquire in-demand tech skills. 

Designed for Further Education Training (FET) provision these programmes are delivered with the support and collaboration of Education and Training Boards (ETBs), nationally. FIT tech programmes, while responsive to industry demands, are built in accordance with the requirements and standards of the National Qualifications Framework.

In total over 250,000 job seekers have completed FIT skills development programmes to date, of which more than 120,000 have progressed into tech sector employment.
