Westport College of Further Education has been approved for an Erasmus + grant for 2018-2020 of €183,471. This grant will allow Westport College of Further Education to send a total of 115 staff and students on Erasmus+ placements over the next 2 years. The grant will cover students travel expenses and pay them up to €2200 each for a 3 week placement in Estonia, Iceland, France, Denmark, Spain, Romania or Portugal. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for PLC students in Westport College of Further Education to gain paid European work placement. This grant is in addition to a grant awarded last year totalling €161,494.

College Principal Michael Murphy says he is very excited for the students who will get the opportunity to partake in this project as they will gain skills that will increase their employment prospects and improve their interpersonal skills. All 34 students who traveled on an Erasmus+ placement in 2018 had an excellent learning and cultural experience. Westport CFE has also hosted students and staff from our partner colleges in France, Denmark and Estonia during the year. This is a further addition to the local economy.

To avail of this wonderful opportunity please apply for a PLC course in Hair, Beauty, Office Admin, Tourism, Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Care, Film and TV Production, Photography, Art, Motor Technology and Healthcare Support starting in September 2018.
