In the past one hundred years the world has changed beyond recognition. Globalisation, technological advances and the climate crisis have created new challenges and opportunities. Despite this, few education systems around the world have evolved to prepare learners for this uncertain future.
At UCD Innovation Academy, we believe that every person deserves an education that enables them to flourish. We support educators around the world to gain the confidence and skills to lead change in their context, for the benefit of their students, communities and countries.
Transformimg teaching
The UCD Professional Certificate in Creativity & Innovation for Education is a Level-9 accredited programme designed to equip educators with the knowledge, skills and mindset to transform their teaching for the 21st century. Now in its eleventh year, the programme supports educators to develop their entrepreneurial mindset, explore innovative approaches, and grow their capacity for creative leadership. The programme has worked with hundreds of educators and is currently partnered with schools in Ireland, the Netherlands and universities in Vietnam.
During the programme, educators are invited to reimagine their education practice in an immersive, experiential environment. Educators have the opportunity to develop their creativity, explore new ideas and entrepreneurial initiatives in education, develop their leadership skills, and join a like minded community of changemakers. Educators are exposed to best and next practices to inspire them to transform their teaching practices for the 21st century.
Entrepreneurial Education
At UCD Innovation Academy, we design and deliver 21st century education for 21st century challenges. Our approach centres on Entrepreneurial Education and draws on the latest academic research and our 15 years of experience as entrepreneurial educators.
Our programme fosters a sense of initiative in learners and the ability to turn ideas into action; it foregrounds creativity, innovation, risk-taking and growth mindset; and it enables students to identify and make the most of opportunities, overcome and learn from setbacks, and succeed in a variety of settings.
By fostering entrepreneurial thinking in our educators and in turn in our schools, we prepare young people to succeed in an unpredictable world, giving them the tools to flourish and lead change in their careers and lives.
We integrate the latest neuroscience of learning and insights from global education experts into our programme. Educators engage in an immersive, experiential setting where they can cultivate behaviors and mindsets that promote leadership, creativity, confidence, and problem-solving skills. Our goal is to ensure that educators are equipped to guide students in developing these critical skills which are so needed to thrive in the future.
